What Custom Software Development is all about

The term Custom Software Development stands for software engineering for unique purposes. But nowadays this term added a lot to its primary sense. Custom software development - also known as custom software engineering, means letting go of ordinary (template or out-of-the-box) solutions and views. The customers want to believe that their projects are unique. So putting their ideas into practice with the help of new technologies, custom approaches to solving problems, finding new creative solutions in order to meet the specific requirements and preferences of the customer as quickly as possible - is the key idea of custom software development. We at Itransition Software Development Company aim at developing custom software not for mass users within a single organization, but a unique and tailored one for a single customer (user) or a group, as opposed to packaged one, developed for multiple users.

Using technology to help with your investments.

Important note :

We all know about the Internet succsess stories such as Google , eBay , and Amazon . I would like to point out here that these companies used the Internet and technology to “invent” themselves , not “reinvent” - an important distinction . So , you should use technology to help you do what you already been doing . Avoid technology that tries to reinvent you .

A good example of technology to avoid is one that promises the “get rich fast” solution . In today’s environment , no book would be completed without at least a state -of-the-market on technology . The trick is to use technology’s strengths : it is particularly good at capturing and organizing information and then storing that information for long periods of time . Technology ( and software in particular ) has created great efficiencies and productivity for all of us . Consumers can research products , health care issues , and the latest news over the Internet faster than ever . Businesses can do their job functions easier , faster , and better . Investors can track their investments and back up their data daily . However , the dirty little secret about technology is that there have been poor technologies released that promised castles in the sky but never worked . These empty promises consumed millions of dollars and hours of time but never provided anything useful . So how do you find the good technology and avoid the bad without becoming a technologist ? As I already said , you have to follow the simple rule : Use technology to help you do what you should already be doing today . Avoid technology that tries to reinvent you . the great lesson from history was the promise of the dot-com . The idea was simple : convert your business to an “e” business : eBanking , eRetail , eLearning , eShopping , eReal Estate , etc . Most companies that abandoned their past business models and success for the promise of the pure dot-com model were soon out of business .So again , when considering technology for your investment , choose and use solutions that make you better at what you already been doing .

Benefits of Internet Applications.

The Internet has made possible a new type of software , which is internet applications . We may already use some of this applications : Internet search ( www.google.com ) , Web email ( www.hotmail.com ) , travel reservations ( www.orbitz.com ) , or online banking . These types of applications are changing how we as consumers , businesses , and investors use computers . The benefites are huge :

  1. No software to download or install - With an online application , the guts of the software reside on the host server , so you never have any software to download or install .

 2. Updates of software are automatic - This applications provide no maintenance for end user . The maintenance of this applications is provided as a part of the solution , and software updates materialize automatically to you .

 3. Since there is no software to install , you can access your online solution from any computer with a browser and Internet connection .

 4. Data backup - With all of the computer viruses today , one of the biggest benefits of Internet solutions is inherent data backup . Because , by default , your data resides on the host server , so you will not lose your data as a result of hard drive crash .

 5. Central security - As a general rule , it is easier for a single company to centralize its security defenses to protecet and safeguard your data . Your bank , for example is an analogy ; it has the collective resources and responsibilty to protect your deposits .

Let’s take a look at the specific example : How can we use technology to better manage your real estate investment ? Let’s consider www. KeepMore.net , an online record-keeping solution .

. It will simplify your administration and bookkeeping - fast capturing the funds going in ( such as rent payments to you ) , and funds going out ( such as building improvements ) of your investment .

. It also offers a smart categorization - by sorting and categorizing your transactions automatically so you know exactly how profitable you are during a year .

Using Internet record-keeping solution allows you to leverage the power of Internet and better protect your data . Most importantly , it does not attempt to reinvent you or the way that your real estate investment should work . It simply makes your life easier .

Soon you’ll be able to surf the Web and check email in your car .

2007 will be a year of cars thanks in part to Ford’s Sync , a hand-free cell phone gizmo runninig on Microsoft’s operating system . It also let you control your MP3 player using voice commands . Sync will be available on several  car models in fall , and it’s even going to work with iPods . But is is just a start . The product manager for Microsoft’s  in-vehicle system says , that Future versions of Sync could incorporate Wi-Fi , so you could download your email  while driving through Net cloud and then have the system read it to you . Meanwhile Autonet Mobile ( autonetmobile.com ) , wants to turn your car into a rolling hotspot . Autonet’s book-size routner plugs into your sigarette lighter and connects into the same kind of cell networks used by wireless PC Cards , while broadcasting a secure 802.11 g network in your car . Autonet has two advantages over wireless cards , according to the company’s CEO . It is better at managing handoffs when you move from fast networks to slower ones , and everyone can share one connection . By the time you read this , cars with Autonet inside should be available at select Avis Rent A Car locations ; late this spring you will be able to buy the router for $ 399 , plus $ 50 per month for access to Autonet’s network . As Internet Protocol version 6 becomes more common , cars could be used to gather data about traffic paterns , weather and much more .

Getting rid of spyware takes work , but it can be done .

Do you think you have it bad ? Check the infastation at find.pcworld.com/56456 . Web users are turning away from blockbuster promo sites.

Imagine a team of web designers in one room churning out wacky ideas . Little later the client has a a funky , and quite possibly , useless uber-promo site on its hands . Is anybody visiting it ? Does it work ? It certainly looks nice . Sorry , but the days of big-bang , ‘hunch-based’ designing are all but dead . The advent of communities and UGC ( user-generated content ) means that brands no longer have only one shot to engage with their visitors . We are  already in UGC up to our elbows , however many of us still have our arm-bands on . So how can you understand the UGC  if  you are not part of  it ? Built a Bebo or MySpace page . Set it up . Explore YouTube and Google Earth communities . You have to turn the model on its head , because bigger sites can be time-consuming to change . A decentralised approach allows pockets of content to be tweaked without changing expensive elements , such as architecture . You have to know your audience  also. What they really want ? Only then you should think about creative side of things . You also have to map your partners and your target . Base your creativity on real needs .

Succsessfull blog reguires well-determined purposes and clear statement .

Here is some tips for you ; Inject your  personality , there is nothing worse than reading a boring blog . Be yourself . Inject your personality into your writing . Do you have a sense of humor ? It has to be shown through on your blog . It is very important that you find a style of writing that best fits who you really are . let’s talk  , for instance , about busines blog . It’s not unlike trying a clothes .  How many times have you gone shopping for that business or an outfit only to try on before you find the one that best suits you ? According to Jonatan Miller , author of the well-known Matrix blog ( http://matrix.millersamuel.com ) , ” The harderst thing about blog is finding its voice and sticking with it . The first couple of days that I posted , I was very sarcastic because that is how a lot of real estate blogs are . That has its place , but it was not what I was comfortable with , so I went back and ripped them all down and started over again . ” Like Miller , you will experience different approaches untill you find the one that is most valuable for you  . One way you’ll  know  when you’ve found it is by responses you receive . When you are yourself , writing with your “voice” , people will respond .

Internet advertising has exploded , and it changes as fast as market expands.

The original inception of the internet when it was created in 1993 , was designed to be a method , with which you could share the information across the borders . In those , times computer was still a luxury and the concept of wireless network was just a dream . This dream was always more about consumerism than philosophy . Since than the market has grown exponentially over the past years . Computers has become as obliquitous in western homes as televisions , and even in the developing world . Internet access has transformed its  potential , while the spread of Wi-Fi technology , coupled with the commensurate rise in loptop sales , which means that we need never be offline and thus are constantly susceptible to advertising . For well over decades , those people , who have been selling privately , had been forced to adertise on internet .  The internet has become an altenative , allowing people to buy , sell and swap across much border areas , even acrsoss the globe . Unlike , other sections of the media where expansion has brought a greater choice and driven down prices , such as the growth of digital television , the mushrooming of the internet has been paralleled by the growing dominance of a few major companies within the field of individual advertising . The problem is that this huge companies have created a virtual monopoly . Those famous names have no problem extracting inflated sums from those , who wants to sell through their big sites . However the web has stiil a lot of space for growth  - and with this will come even further opportunities to advertise .

It seems that plans for prisoners to get access to email are now being planned .

Prisoners are to be given access to email for the first time in a bid to cut reoffending and connect them better with friends and family . The Home Office is giving up a plans for a pilot scheme in a single jail to give inmates internet use , despite obvious fears that it could be a security risk . The project at Wandsorth Prison in South London would go only if there were systems in place to prevent “potential abuses” . The web surfing , however , will be denied . The Home Officials says : ” The plans to trial a system to provide email to offenders in one prison will not go ahead untill ministers are pursuaded that mechanisms to prevent potential abuses are in place . The National Offender Management Service is also looking at how to provide a secure IT infrastructure to facilitate internet-delivered learning courses in seven London prisons . “                                                                           The education  depatment of the prison has assigned a specific training course for the prisoners . “ The internet and email has so far not been given to prisoners because of fears that it could be used to plan escape bids , or that certain inmates , such as sex offenders , could use it to view inappropriate material .”

Blogger- is extremely easy…

Blogger was one of the earliest blog platforms to be developed and has been credited with being the one that really helped to bring blogging to our attention . It is the most popular platform in use today . You need just a few minutes to set it up ,  and  it’s ready to go . The interface offers both the WYSIWYG (What you see is what you get ) and HTML ( HyperTextMarkupLanguage ) editing options . It dosn’t require  a knowledge of HTML , but if you have it , you can click the “Edit HTML” tab and work with source code itself . The platform also offers you several templates that you can switch to .

Blogger is free to use . But this comes with a price , albeit not a monetary one . Every blog in its system has a search bar at the top of the page that links to Google ( Blogger is owned by Google ) and a series of buttons , including one that links to reader to other blogs in the network . The big disadveantage to use a Blogger is that it lacks some of the basic blog functionalities found on other platforms . However , Blogger is an entry-level platform designed more for personal use .
